Arvixe was founded in California in 2003, and hosts thousands of websites globally. Now, Arvixe as a former top pick in the Web hosting space, has fallen on tough times. The website-hosting service boasts one of the most-complete feature sets in the industry, but in the past several months, we’ve received email messages from users complaining about long downtimes and poor customer service response from Arvixe.
What Happened With Arvixe?
EIG Bought Arvixe October 2014
In October 2014 EIG bought Arvixe from Arvand Sabetian and Avanquest (who owned it jointly). According to EIG’s release, they recently acquired Arvixe last October 31, 2014. Quoted from their release:
In addition, on October 31, 2014, the company acquired the assets of Arvixe, LLC. The total consideration for these acquisitions is expected to be approximately $77 million.
The meltdown of frustrated Arvixe users on twitter proved just how bad things can get. And finally, a downtime that lasted nearly a full day affecting millions of customers worldwide. You couldn’t reach any customer service, pure disaster. While it’s true web hosting outages can happen to any web hosting company, it is rare to happen on such a large scale.
